• Born on March 25, 1963, in Warsaw.

• Oct. 1981-June 1986 - Studied at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology; M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering (Fundamental Technological Research).

• Nov. 1987-today - Employed at the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of Polish Academy of Sciences, currently as a research associate at the Department of Computational Science.
  • 1991/92 - Temporary stay (as a DAAD fellow) at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), at Prof. P. Wriggers' research group (FB6 AG4).

  • Jan. 1993 - Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering at IFTR; with the thesis on numerical analysis of stress distribution in lung parenchyma (thesis advisor: Prof. M. Kleiber).

  • 1996/97 - leave from IFTR at Hibbitt, Karlsson & Sorensen, Inc. (now: Dassault Systèmes)

  • since 1999 - lectures on solid mechanics at Faculty of Mathematics and Information Science, WUT

  • Nov. 2007 - `habilitation' degree in Mechanical Engineering at IFTR; with the thesis on sensitivity analysis in nonlinear FE computations.

Family status: married since 1988 to Urszula, children: Pawel (1990), Tomek (1993) and Zosia (1999).
