CPC. Cross-programme Clustering and Concertation
Cross-programme clustering and concertation activities will be built from projects which can demonstrate added-value at programme level for a range of measures
including: integrated demonstrations and trials; standardisation initiatives, best practice activities, stimulation of awareness on new technologies and their means of
rapid take-up through: working groups, thematic workshops and conferences and a co-ordinated dissemination of related RTD results coming from all four Key Actions.
The following indicates examples of possible clusters.
CPC.1 Mobile citizens and servicesObjective: To foster a rapid convergence of mobile and fixed applications and services to serve the needs of mobile citizens and professionals. Activities
should aim to promote consensus and exchange of experience, knowledge and information on a range of technological and service issues relating to the use of mobile/wireless
and fixed communications.
CPC.2;Privacy, security and personalisationObjective: To co-ordinate exchanges of information, consensus building, best practices and standards in respect of the following distinguished and separated
strands of issues:
Personal privacy and data protection
Intellectual property rights and copyright protection mechanisms
Security of payment and billing systems
Personalisation of content and services taking into account of user profiles.
CPC.3 Space Technologies and applicationsObjective: To foster the integration of satellite delivered communications and information technologies and the take-up of novel space technology enabled
systems and services. This action is to provide co-ordination and concertation of related work undertaken in all four Key Actions bringing together the community of
satellite systems and technology integrators and providers, with service and content integrators and providers.
CPC.4 Knowledge management and learningObjective: To identify, co-ordinate and exploit the breadth and depth of content and knowledge management practices for large distributed and heterogeneous
"spaces" and learning activities as encompassed by the IST Programme. The activity encompasses the dissemination of media models and standards supporting
interoperable, cross-sectorial, open and standardised technologies and their take-up in systems and services.
CPC.5 Interfaces and interactivityObjective: To promote and support the transition from a computer-centric interaction paradigm to novel interaction environments whilst ensuring that related
technologies, applications and services are accessible, usable and acceptable by all citizens. This action links to the requirements of disabled and elderly, to the methods
and tools supporting computer-mediated human activities, to natural, transparent multi-lingual interfaces and to novel interface architectures employing various
senses.
